If you wish to stop having VDownloader running at your system start-up, you should go to “Options -> Configuration” and uncheck the “Launch VDownloader on Windows start-up” option. When you click “Ok” to close the menu, there will be a User Account Control prompt (1) that will ask you if you wish to authorize the changes that “VDUtility.exe” will make to your computer. This is necessary so VDownloader can be disabled from running in system start-up. After you click “Yes”, the changes will be saved and VDownloader will not start in the next time you start your computer.

Note: in Windows XP, there is an additional checkbox that you need to uncheck, and it is labeled as “Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity”. Simply uncheck this and click “Ok”.
